February Open House

Each year we try and find ways for children to show and share the work done in the classroom. Bringing home finished products is one way for you to see the work they do, but because process and the concrete materials often remains in the classroom we feel like there is more for you to see.

An open house occurred on February 4, allowing each child to show specifically what they are working on right now in any of the disciplines. Example work included answering questions in math, working in language, using the materials we have for French, or reviewing the research work being done in the other cultural subjects such as history, biology, geometry, or geography.

Montessori Open House

Dear Montessori families and friends,

As many of you may already know, a new independent elementary Montessori school opened its doors in September 2012 in Whitehorse. The school is called Yukon Montessori School and has a grade 1 to 6 program. In September 2013 we will have a few openings in all grades.

On January 24, 2013 at 7 pm at the classroom (1191 First Avenue, next to Shipyards park) we will hold an open house for adults to come in and see the classroom, meet the teacher, some of the parents who now have their children in the program, as well as the board members of the school. The open house is a relaxed and informal opportunity to learn about the Montessori Elementary program and our new school.
We look forward to meeting anyone interested to learn more about the program
